Insight: No matter what you think God says you are good enough. In fact, you were created in His image and He sent His Son to die on the cross for your sin. My challenge to you is to focus on what God sees in you and not what you think about yourself. I myself have had these thoughts pretty much my entire life and a friend actually gave me some Scriptures which have really helped me, so I am going to share them with you as well. Matthew 5:13-14; John 1:12; John 15:1,5; John 15:15; John 15:16; Acts 1:8; Romans 5:1; Romans 8:1-2; Romans 8:28; Romans 8:31-34, Romans 8:35-39; 1 Corinthians 3:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 6:17; 1 Corinthians 6:20; 1 Corinthians 12:27; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; 2 Corinthians 6:1; Ephesians 1:1, Ephesians 1:5; Ephesians 2:6; Ephesians 2:10; Ephesians 2:18, Ephesians 3:12; Philippians 1:6; Philippians 3:20; Philippians 4:13; Colossians 1:14; Colossians 2:10; Colossians 3:3; 2 Timothy 1:7; Hebrews 4:16; 1 John 5:18. Just remember you are loved and accepted by God, you are significant and God is your security.

Insight: I believe that God hates divorce because it tears apart the very fabric of the family entity that God created. Divorce hurts not only both people in the marriage but also any children that were conceived. God hates to see His children in pain and this is why he hates divorce. This is only half of the picture though. The other half of the picture is God is loving, forgiving and merciful. When we make mistakes He is faithful to forgive us. If you have asked God to forgive you, I believe it is forgiven and you have a new slate, however keep in mind the consequences of these issues still exist.
In your new relationship if your children do not like the person you have chosen it could cause strife between you and your children; or if their children do not like you it may cause problems there as well. The same goes for friends and families of either person. These are the consequences of the choices we make. God provides forgiveness and freedom from sin but the consequences remain. I would advise that when Scripture gives several warnings considering a particular topic, weigh the consequences carefully. Insight: Believe it or not this is an age old questions. In the days of Moses (read Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy in the Old Testament for the complete story of Moses) the Israelites also had a hard time trusting a God they could not see, even with the miracles that God had performed for them. So first of all you are not the only one in that boat. I too have had my trust issues with God. The interesting thing is that if you read the Bible from the perspective of the people, you can identify with their doubts, however if you read the Bible from the perspective of an Almighty God you start to see it in another light.
God creates man and gives man everything he has, man then responds with disobedience, and tries to hide from God. Since this incident we constantly hurt God, and yet He still tries to reach out to us again and again. He even sent His Son to die for the sins of the world so that we can be free to love Him back. Yet looking at the world around us, people hate God, people don't trust God, people judge God, people deny God, people ignore God, and even love man-made gods over Him. God must be heart broken. His only desire is that we love Him the way He loves us. He wants our best for us, so sometimes He does not do what we expect Him to, instead He gives us something better! I know this from experience. Even though you can't see Him, He loves you more than anyone else does on this entire planet, and He will give you His best and not allow you to settle for your own plans. Do not be disheartened, God knows the big picture and He just wants you to know you are loved and you can trust Him with everything. He will never let you down. Insight: God does not love us based on how good we are, if that was the case none of us would be able to receive God's love. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23. God loves the entire world. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more and there is nothing you can do to make God love you less. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8. No matter how unworthy you may feel God gave us his grace not based on our performance but on His love and compassion for us. The more we love God the more we strive to be like Him. Therefore, on the days when we feel like we are not very Christlike, we could spend time in God's presence and just rest in His love. The more we allow God's love to wash over us, the more we will begin operating out of that love.
Insight: We all have people in our lives that we love. Why not focus on these people on Valentine's Day. Take a sibling or parent out to dinner. Go out to a movie with a friend. I look at Valentine's Day as a day to show how much you love the people in your life. It doesn't even have to be a material gift, just give someone a call, or a note of encouragement. Little things mean a lot more than you may realize. Another thing you could do is spend that time focused on God's love for you and how much He loves you. Once you take the focus off of your relationship status and focus on those you love, I am sure you will find Valentine's Day more enjoyable. If you start to enjoy Valentine's Day, then next year February may be a month to look forward to instead of the month to dread.
